DreamWorks Animation has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Editor based in Glendale, CA. The Assistant Editor will support the Lead Editor in the day-to-day running of the Edit suite. Job Description Responsibilities: Supports Lead Editor, Associate Editor(s), and Assistant Editor I in daily production and editorial needs. Works with Assistant Editor I to ensure accurate presentation of all film materials (story reels, screeners, previews, DCPs, etc.). Leads or participates in scratch, production, and ADR dialogue recording sessions. Imports, organizes, and breaks down dialogue recordings for Lead Editor. Curates SFX and temp music for the lead editor. Assists with editing temp SFX and Music for story reels. Creates media outputs from Editorial and manages media deliveries from Production. Publishes all cut lists and change notes to Production. Acts as a point of contact with Technical Directors. Supervises quality standards at audio and post houses. Coordinates final film spots with Sound Designer and Composer. Acts as a creative liaison between Directors, Production, sound designers, and mixers. Attends screenings and incorporates feedback with Lead Editor. Participates in production meetings as needed. Delivers approved film cuts in required formats to sound and music departments. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Proficiency with AVID Media Composer. Experience with Premiere Pro and Resolve. Understanding of video/audio standards, codecs, and content transfer between post-production applications. Union hours for Industry Experience Roster. Desired Qualifications: Proficiency with Photoshop and After Effects. Familiarity with FLIX, Autodesk Shotgrid, Pro Tools, Linux/Unix, and Windows. Animation editing experience preferred. Work Environment: Hybrid position, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. Salary Range: $89,170 - $115,000 Additional Information Applicants may need to attend in-person interviews.
